I misunderstood. There's not much of a background story, other than I felt like the last cop that gave me a speeding ticket lied about it. He claimed he had me on radar, but he never even turned his device on until he parked behind me. I know this because the V1 went nuts while I was parked, not while "speeding." It was the second time I was issued a speeding ticket for exactly "60mph," which led me to believe the number was rounded up to put me in the 15mph+ price bracket for tickets. That's the main reason for the shirts. Not that they're going to change anything, but I feel it's a great conversation piece for getting my message across, whether it be to other motorists or cops. I really don't care. Cops have done enough to annoy me, I might as well annoy them right back. I've mentioned before that I have much more...umm, "abrasive" T-shirts with messages about cops, but I feel that Traffic Cops Lie is much more easily digested by most. It's simply an experiment in freedom of speech that goes against the norms of society that lead you to believe that traffic cops are there to "protect" you. I firmly believe that speeding tickets don't save lives. Accidents aren't CAUSED by speed. Speed is just a force multiplier. The root causes of accidents are either distraction, inexperience or mechanical failure. If more effort was put into actual driver education instead of spending so much to monetarily punish good/bad drivers for these traffic "infractions," you wouldn't have as many fatalities on the road (that lead ignorant people/lawmakers/police into thinking SPEED is to blame). I could rant/rave about this all day, but I guess that gives you a pretty good idea.
